(English as a Second Language ) programs for all grades K-12. In addition to their other fine programs, Greenwich schools have outstanding ESL (English as a Second Language ) programs for all grades K-12. The elementary schools serve students in grades K-5, the middle schools serve students in grades 6-8 and the high school serves students grades 9-12. Schools open for students around Labor Day and close in the middle of June.

Greenwich has an abundance of excellent private schools. Typical annual tuition is $9,000-$15,000, depending upon the grade. Private schools typically have more applicants than they have spaces. It is prudent to apply early. Private schools often have one or more open houses for parents of prospective attendees. Many offer extended day programs or early drop-off for their preschoolers.
